The history of this town has very ancient origins. These lands have had human settlements on them since Prehistoric times. The current centre of Trinità d’Agultu developed from the 1800s, when the location was chosen by the families in local centres and stazzi.

The beaches in Trinità e Vignola are some of the most beautiful in the region. Among the more popular ones, Cala Tinnari is worth mentioning as a gorgeous beach with imposing cliffs that emerge over the crystal waters. Beautiful in a different way is the beach of Vignola Mare, an ideal destination for fans of golden sands, natural dunes and untouched nature covered in Mediterranean scrub that grows aplenty in the region.
Sights To See In Trinità d’Agultu e Vignola
A must see around here is Torre di Vignola, located in the marine burg with the same name, Vignola Mare. This imposing structure rises on a granitic cliff about 25 m altitude and about 12 m tall. And this is just one of the many coastal towers built by the Spanish during the 1600s to defend the coast from Saracen invasions. From its height you can appreciate a gorgeous panoramic view of the crystalline waters and of Bocche di Bonifacio
The church of San Giovanni Battista is in the nearby region of Lu Colbu. It is a little rural church accessible from the coast by walking along it towards Santa Teresa di Gallura. Once reached, you can admire the church built in 1932 and surrounded by a square fenced in by a short stone wall.

Not very distant from the residential area you will find the splendid Archipelago of La Maddalena with its National Park, a protected area perfect for snorkelling and boat excursions. You can also visit Tempio, characterised by a rich historical heritage, and Olbia with its lively nightlife.
